Pay automatically from your bank account. Direct Debit is required for all our services. New customers use the link on their quote to set up Direct Debit.

Don't worry about Direct Debit. It is the way we take payment for all Simple Telecoms services, and the setup link is on the quote we send you.

Quick answer

Direct Debit is required for all our services. New customers use the link on their quote to set up Direct Debit. We then invoice the setup fee, and place your order when that payment is received.

More detail

Direct Debit means your bank pays Simple Telecoms automatically when your bill is due. You do not need to remember to pay manually each month.

You stay in control through the Direct Debit guarantee. Your bank must refund you if a payment is taken in error.

If you are a new customer, the Direct Debit setup link is on the quote we send you. Complete that first. We then send an invoice for the setup fee. When we receive that payment, we place your order.

If you are already a customer and order a new service or change, you usually keep your existing Direct Debit. Reply to confirm your quote, pay the setup fee invoice, and we place the order when payment is received.

If you want to change the bank account for Direct Debit, Contact us. We send you a new setup link. Tell us when you have completed it so we can update our records and cancel the old mandate.

Do not cancel your Direct Debit at the bank before a new mandate is in place. That can result in a Direct Debit termination charge.

Each month you receive two emails: one when your invoice is ready in the portal, and one confirming the Direct Debit amount before collection around the 15th or 16th.

Tell the bill payer that Direct Debit on their bank statement shows as Simple Telecommunications Limited.

If a Direct Debit cannot be collected because there are insufficient funds, an administration fee may apply.

What you'll need

  • Your quote from Simple Telecoms with the Direct Debit setup link
  • Bank account number and sort code
  • The name on the bank account

Before you begin

  • Make sure enough money is usually in the account on your due date once service is live.
  • Do not cancel an existing Direct Debit at your bank until we confirm a new mandate is in place.

Set up Direct Debit from your quote

  1. Open the quote we sent you and find the Direct Debit setup link.

You should see a link or button to set up Direct Debit on your quote.

  2. Enter your name, account number, and sort code carefully in the setup form.

The details should match the bank account you want us to use.

  3. Complete and submit the Direct Debit setup.

You should receive confirmation from your bank, usually within a few days.

  4. Wait for our invoice for the setup fee if you are a new customer or ordering a change with a setup charge.

You should receive an invoice by email or post with payment instructions.

  5. Pay the setup fee from that invoice.

We place your order once payment is received.

  6. Watch for the pre-notification email before each monthly collection around the 15th or 16th once your service is live.

What success looks like

Your bank confirms Direct Debit is set up, you pay any setup fee invoice, we place your order, and each month you get a pre-notification email before payment is collected around the 15th or 16th.

Common mistakes

  • Entering the wrong sort code or account number.
  • Cancelling Direct Debit at the bank before a new mandate is set up.
  • Expecting your order to start before the setup fee invoice is paid.
  • Assuming you can pay monthly bills without Direct Debit in place.
  • Not telling us when you have completed a new Direct Debit setup so we can cancel the old mandate.
