Call the last number you dialled. P
Don't worry if you need to call someone back quickly. Redial calls the last number you dialled from your home phone.
Quick answer
Pick up the handset and press the redial button, or dial the redial code shown in your phone manual.

Redial only repeats the last outbound number from that phone.
If the last call failed, redial tries the same number again.
Clear the last number by making a new call or power cycling some phones.
Use redial
Pick up the handset. On digital lines you may hear silence instead of dial tone. That can be normal.
Press the redial button on the phone, often marked with a symbol or R.
Or dial the redial code from your phone booklet if no button exists.
Wait for the call to connect.
If wrong number appears, dial the correct number manually once.
Common mistakes
- Using redial after someone else made a different last call on another handset.
- Expecting redial to return an incoming caller; use 1471 instead.
- Redialling premium numbers by accident.
