Find out who called last. Pick up the handset, dial 1471, and listen. The last caller number is read out unless it was withheld.
Don't worry if you missed a call. Dialling 1471 from your home phone tells you the last number that called when display was missed.

1471 is a free network service on most lines.
Withheld callers may not show a number.
Use caller display during ringing when possible for more time to decide.
Use 1471
Pick up your home phone. On digital lines you may hear silence instead of dial tone. That can be normal.
Dial 1471 using the number keys.
Listen to the message with the last caller number.
Note the number if you want to call back.
If withheld, the message says the caller withheld their number.
Use 1571 if they may have left voicemail instead.
Common mistakes
- Dialling 1471 from a mobile expecting home line results.
- Expecting a number when the caller withheld it.
- Confusing 1471 with 1571 voicemail.
