Don't worry. With your own broadband, most phone problems are adapter cables, internet outages, or a router setting called SIP ALG.

Poor audio with your own broadband is often cables, busy internet, or SIP ALG in your router.

More detail

Poor audio with your own broadband is often cables, busy internet, or SIP ALG in your router.

Steps for your own broadband

  1. Push Phone1 and handset cables in firmly.

  2. Pause streaming and downloads during test calls.

  3. Turn off SIP ALG in your router.

  4. Run a broadband speed test. Contact your broadband provider if speeds are very low.

  5. See Poor call quality with your own broadband for full steps.

What success looks like

Your home broadband is online, adapter lights are ready, and you can make and receive calls on your home number.

Common mistakes

  • Plugging the phone into a wall socket instead of Phone1 on the adapter.
  • Expecting Simple Telecoms to fix your broadband when only the phone service is with us.
  • Leaving SIP ALG switched on in the broadband router.
