Step-by-step list for your first day connected. For Home2Phone customers. Open the package and check the equipment matches your welcome letter.

Don't worry on your first day. This checklist walks you through everything from opening the box to making your first call.

Quick answer

Open the package and check the equipment matches your welcome letter. Geemarc box or GSM handset.

First-day checklist

  1. Open the package and check the equipment matches your welcome letter. Geemarc box or GSM handset.

  2. Find the small rounded power button sticking out on the left side of the Geemarc box.

You should feel the button on the left edge of the box.

  3. Press and hold that button until the Wi-Fi light and/or 4G light turns on, then let go.

You should see the Wi-Fi or 4G light come on while you are holding the button.

  4. Wait without pressing again if all lights go off and then come back on. This is normal.

The lights should settle within a few minutes.

  5. Check the Wi-Fi light and/or 4G light, not the power light, to know the box is on.

You should see the Wi-Fi or 4G light lit when the box is working.

  6. Geemarc box: plug into mains where signal is strongest, often near a window. Connect the antenna if your model has one.

  7. Geemarc box: plug a landline handset we supplied into the phone socket once the Wi-Fi or 4G light is lit.

  8. If you have the Geemarc box, use a landline handset we supplied with your package. We do not support other handsets plugged into the Geemarc box.

  9. If you have a GSM cordless handset from us, switch it on with its power button and check signal bars on the display. We only support GSM handsets supplied by Simple Telecoms as part of your package.

  10. Make a test call and ask someone to call your home number back.
